Read a Good Book Lately?

The Balmoral Book Club has set its lineup for the rest of the year. It gathers at 1:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the church.

July 9: “Before We Were Yours” by Lisa Wingate. Led by Katherine Getske.
Aug. 13: “Lives of a Cell: Notes of a Biology Watcher” by Lewis Thomas. Led by Ted Pearson.
Sept. 10: “Hannah Coulter” by Wendell Berry. Led by Bob Kaiser.
Oct. 8: “Dimestore: A Writer’s Life” by Lee Smith. Led by Cathy Bailey.
Nov. 12: “Atonement” by Ian McEwan. Led by Janice Hill.
Dec. 10: “Between the World and Me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates. Led by Jane Schneider.

SUMMER SABBATH SUNDAYS will continue through Sunday, Sept. 1. We suspend Sunday Studies, regular choir practice and small groups in order to rest and renew our spirits.

BEGIN THE PILGRIMAGE TO PENTECOST: The Mid-South Presbytery’s Pentecost event will be June 9 at Rhodes College. Worship is set for 3:30 p.m. in the Bryan Campus Life Center.

HEADSETS for improved hearing are available in the sound booth at the window side of the sanctuary.

DON’T FORGET the FOOD CART! Hundreds of families depend on your donations. With the uncertainty with the availability of government assistance this month, let’s make sure the Food Pantry has plenty of food to tide them over.

VOLUNTEERS for the PRE-SCHOOL ARE NEEDED during Sunday worship time. All of our children are precious gifts, and we are so blessed to have them. If you would be willing to give up your worship time for one Sunday and spend that time with the children, please contact the church office or Glenda Ellis, and we'll get you scheduled for service.

CHAIR YOGA meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:30pm in the Fellowship area. Build increased flexibility and better balance with these low-impact yoga exercises. For more information, contact Lynn Ward.

JOHNSON AUXILIARY collects items all year long—current needs are men’s pants sizes 30-34, men’s casual shoes (all sizes), umbrellas, and hygiene items (toothpaste; toothbrushes; large combs and brushes, particularly those for detangling hair).
